Slip Ring

Slip Ring is also known as collector ring, conductive ring, collector ring, converter ring, conductive slip ring, rotary connector, adapter, commutator, rotary joint, etc. In addition, according to the overall structure of the slip ring is different, it can also be divided into solid round slip ring, empty round slip ring, separated slip ring, flat disk slip ring, mercury slip ring, special type slip ring and other types.

Fields of application

A Slip Ring usually consists of a rotating metal ring and one or more stationary brush holders. The metal ring is usually engraved with conductive tracks or contacts, while the brush holders are fitted with carbon brushes or other conductive material. When the device rotates, the metal ring rotates with it, but the brush holders remain stationary. The carbon brushes remain in contact with the conductive tracks or contacts on the metal ring, allowing for the continuous transmission of power and signals.

Slip Rings are widely used in a variety of fields that require rotary transmission of power or signals, such as industrial automation, aerospace, medical equipment, amusement rides, wind power generation, robotics, drones, various types of gimbals, and so on.

Our Advantages of Slip Ring

Slip Ring FAQ

A slip ring enables continuous transmission of power, signals, or data between rotating and stationary parts without cable twisting.

We offer capsule, pancake, through-bore, optical-electrical hybrid, Ethernet, and fully customized slip rings.

Standard models can exceed 10 million revolutions, depending on current, voltage, speed, and environment.

Yes, hybrid slip rings can handle power lines, control signals, Ethernet, CANBus, and more.

Yes, models are available with dustproof, waterproof, and corrosion-resistant designs, rated up to IP68.

Standard slip rings: up to 500 RPM and currents from 1A to 100A per circuit. High-speed or custom designs can reach 5000 RPM or higher depending on specifications.

Common slip ring materials include copper, gold, silver, carbon brushes, and PTFE insulation, depending on current rating, signal type, and environmental conditions.
